Former MLA Shailesh Pandey is the target of a death threat, with the caller demanding a ransom of 20 lakh rupees. The caller issued a chilling warning that if the money was not paid, Pandey’s daughter would be harmed. Pandey has reported the incident to the Sakri police station. The call was received on the mobile of his wife, Ritu Pandey, on Wednesday. The caller demanded to speak with Shailesh Pandey and then issued the threats. The caller threatened to kidnap the daughter of Manju Pandey, Deputy Registrar of Cooperatives. Pandey immediately informed the SSP and Sakri TI Pradeep Arya. A case has been registered under relevant sections. Pandey found it strange that the threat involved someone else’s daughter. The police are now investigating the matter. The incident has caused a stir, and is being widely discussed within political circles. The Sakri police are working to trace the caller.
