Amit Pandey, Khairagarh. Two children of the same family died tragically in a road accident in the district today. After their sister’s marriage, both the brothers were waiting for their uncle on the roadside to go to Chauthiya Raipur, when a speeding uncontrolled truck crushed both of them.
This incident took place in village market Ataria of Jalbandha police station area. In this incident, Mayank Verma, 17 year old son of Lekhu Verma, resident of Ghotwani and Sumit Verma, 14 year old son of his maternal uncle Rajesh Verma died on the spot. In this accident, the body of a child was trapped under the truck, which was taken out by the police with the help of a crane.
According to eyewitnesses, the truck driver was drunk, hence this major accident happened. Jalbandha police reached the spot, pacified the angry crowd and detained the accused truck driver.
