Raipur. Journalist Mukesh was murdered by contractor Suresh Chandrakar along with his colleagues for exposing the corruption in the construction of Mirtoor-Gangalore road from Nelsanar in the Dhur Naxal area of Bijapur. Taking major action in the corruption case in road construction, the government has suspended SDO RK Sinha and Deputy Engineer GS Kodopi. A show cause notice has been issued to Executive Engineer in-charge BL Dhruv and sought a reply within 15 days.
Apart from this, instructions have been given to file an immediate FIR against BL Dhruv, the then executive engineer, RK Sinha, sub-divisional officer, sub-engineer GS Kodopi and others in this case.
Let us tell you that journalist Mukesh had to lose his life after exposing the corruption in the construction of Mirtoor-Gangalore road from Nelsnar in Bijapur district. Officers have also come under the scanner after crores of rupees were released to the contractor without any work. After the massacre, this road has been investigated thrice. The report has also been sent to higher officials.

Bijapur journalist Mukesh was murdered along with contractor Suresh Chandrakar, his two brothers and a staff worker for exposing road corruption. On January 1, he was brutally murdered and his body was dumped in a septic tank and cremated. You will be surprised to know that the departmental nexus of the accused contractor Suresh Chandrakar was such that currently only 2 parts of this road i.e. 4 kilometer road is complete and the remaining 28 kilometer road is incomplete, but the contractor in collusion took 90% of the amount of Rs 116 crore from the contract. The amount was withdrawn.
