Collector Rahul Dev held a meeting regarding the situation of diarrhea, reprimanded the officials, gave strict instructions to control the impact

Rohit Kashyap, Mungeli. Collector Rahul Dev held a meeting with the health department officials to control the impact of diarrhea in the district. In this meeting, he reviewed the prevention and effective measures of diarrhea and gave necessary guidelines. The collector said that the rural health staff should work with full readiness and immediately provide information about patients suffering from diarrhea anywhere in the villages to the health center and the district administration, so that better treatment can be provided to them by sending a medical team.

During the meeting, the collector reviewed in detail the reasons for the spread of diarrhea in Dullapur and other villages and reprimanded the concerned officials. He constituted a team to investigate the cases of death of patients suffering from diarrhea and directed to submit the report within 48 hours. He also warned of strict action if any kind of negligence is found.

Instructions given to PHE department

The collector directed the EE of the PHE department to get the water sources tested regularly so that the supply of clean water can be ensured. The CMOs of urban bodies, CEOs of Janpad Panchayat, medical officers, Mitanins and Swachhata Didis were instructed to work with full vigilance and promptness to prevent the impact of diarrhea. The SDM was also asked to hold regular meetings of medical officers and make a better action plan for the prevention of diarrhea.

district hospital review

The collector inquired from the district hospital officials about the facilities and other arrangements available in the hospital. He discussed in detail about the timely arrival of doctors, keeping the ICU up-to-date, strengthening HR management, on-call presence of doctors and redressal of patients’ problems. He instructed the doctors and staff of the district hospital to wear uniforms and asked them to ensure delivery of pregnant women primarily in the district hospital.

District Program Manager Girish Kurre said that health checkups, distribution of medicines, and awareness campaigns are being conducted in diarrhea-affected villages for prevention. Mitanins and RHOs go door-to-door to spread awareness and in case of complaints of diarrhea, one can contact 9406275514 for treatment.
