Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will launch the new Raipur-Rajim-Raipur MEMU passenger service from Rajim railway station at 10:30 am on September 18. On this occasion, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Food Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel, Lok Sabha MP Shri Brijmohan Agarwal and Smt. Rupkumari Choudhary, MLA Shri Indrakumar Sahu and Shri Rohit Sahu will be present.
The new Raipur-Rajim-Raipur MEMU passenger service will provide passengers with a convenient, accessible and affordable travel option. Commuting from rural areas to the capital Raipur will become more convenient. This train will be especially useful for students, professionals and business people coming to the capital. Along with this, this new service will ensure direct rail access to Prayag-Rajim of Chhattisgarh, which will also promote tourism.
According to information received from Raipur Railway Division of South East Central Railway, the operation of Raipur-Abhanpur-Raipur MEMU passenger train, which operates between Raipur and Abhanpur, is now being extended to Rajim. From September 19, 2025, as per the regular schedule, train number 68766/68767 Raipur-Rajim-Raipur MEMU passenger will operate daily from both ends—Rajim and Raipur. This train will have 06 general class coaches and a total of 08 coaches including 02 power cars.
