Raipur, September 20, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai today participated in the Nagar Kirtan Yatra organized on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom centenary of Guru Shri Tegh Bahadur Singh ji in Serikhedi, Raipur. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Guru Shri Tegh Bahadur Singh ji made his supreme sacrifice for the protection of the country and religion. It is our good fortune that we are witnessing the Kirtan Yatra organized on the land of Chhattisgarh today.

Chief Minister Shri Sai bowed before Guru Granth Sahib and wished for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state. He also honored the Panch Pyaras who were leading the palanquin of Guru Granth Sahib. The Chief Minister was presented with a sacred Siropa and a Kirpan at the event.

The Chief Minister said that this is a matter of great fortune and pride for Chhattisgarh. Today we are witnessing the Nagar Kirtan Yatra, which has reached Chhattisgarh from Gurudwara Dhubri Sahib in Assam on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom centenary of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, passing through many places in the country. This Nagar Kirtan has reached here after covering a journey of about 10 thousand kilometers. It is a historic moment and a virtuous opportunity for our state people that we have got the opportunity to welcome this journey and participate in it.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that we all know well about the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. He never bowed before the Mughals and sacrificed his life to protect his religion. Even today, Gurudwara Sheeshganj Sahib located in Chandni Chowk, Delhi, is an immortal symbol of the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. We salute Guru Tegh Bahadur ji.

The Chief Minister further said that the martyrdom of the four Sahibzadas of the tenth Guru of Sikhism, Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji, is also unique. The Sahibzadas sacrificed their lives to protect religion instead of bowing before the Mughals.
