Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the assumption of charge ceremony of the newly appointed Chairman of the Telghani Development Board.
Raipur 27 April 2025/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the dignified ceremony organized at the DDU Auditorium in the capital Raipur for the assumption of charge and felicitation of Shri Jitendra Kumar Sahu, the newly appointed Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Telghani Development Board. On this occasion, he extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Shri Sahu for his new responsibility.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that today is a celebration of the cultural heritage and traditional industriousness of Chhattisgarh, which has preserved the soul of the state for centuries. He said that Shri Jitendra Sahu is an educated, progressive farmer and has a long experience of social life. Surely, under his leadership, the Chhattisgarh Telghani Development Board will reach new heights.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that more water and energy are required for farming in summers, so it is very important to promote oilseed crops by adopting crop rotation. In this direction, the role of Sahu Samaj and Telghani Development Board can be important. He informed that the ‘Local for Vocal’ campaign is gaining momentum under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, in which Telghani Development Board can make an effective contribution.
Giving the example of a village in Sarguja district, the Chief Minister said that the farmers there are collectively producing organic aromatic rice and selling it at a price of Rs 300 per kg. Similarly, some farmers are extracting mustard oil using traditional methods and selling it for up to Rs 1,000 per liter. Such innovations need to be encouraged throughout the state.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that his government has fulfilled most of the promises made under ‘Modi’s Guarantee’ in 15 months. He informed that homeless persons will be identified through the ‘Awas Survey Plus Plus’ campaign by 30th April and houses will be provided to them. Also, arrangements have been made to benefit more and more needy families by relaxing the rules of housing schemes. He said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has set a target of constructing 3 crore houses across the country, which will directly benefit the citizens of Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Minister also informed that on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Day, ‘Atal Digital Facilitation Centers’ have been launched in 1460 villages of 146 development blocks of the state, through which the benefits of various government schemes will directly reach the common citizens at the Gram Panchayat level.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao said that the government has entrusted the responsibility of Telghani Development Board to an educated and thorough Chhattisgarhian farmer from the Sahu Samaj. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Shri Sahu, the Board will be successful in fulfilling its objectives.
On this occasion, MLA Shri Sunil Soni, Shri Ishwar Sahu, Shri Dipesh Sahu, Shri Doman Lal Korsewada, along with the Chairpersons of various Mandal Commissions, officers and employees of the Telghani Development Board, and a large number of dignitaries were present.
