Raipur, January 22, 2026/Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai today held a review meeting of the works and activities of the Department of Mineral Resources at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan. In the meeting, important issues such as the department’s upcoming action plan, mineral exploration, mineral block auction, District Mineral Trust (DMF), technical innovation, and enhancing transparency in departmental works were discussed in detail.
Appreciating the progress in departmental works, Chief Minister Mr. Sai specially praised the arrangement for timely and regular payment through the Tin Portal. He said that this initiative has increased transparency in the departmental working system and strengthened trust among stakeholders. The Chief Minister directed to provide more employment opportunities to local people through Corundum mining in tasks like cutting and polishing.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai said that in mining areas, projects’ benefits should be effectively publicized by taking local representatives and citizens into confidence, and mining work should be ensured to commence within the stipulated time limit. He also directed to expedite the approval of development works from the District Mineral Trust (DMF) in such areas as per rules, so that basic facilities can be rapidly developed at the local level.
Officials informed the meeting that the “Mineral Online 2.0” system has been developed with the objective of ensuring transparency in departmental functioning. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) have also been prepared for land scheduling before mineral block auctions and for the disposal of closed and abandoned mines. In this sequence, it was stated that against a target of Rs 14,000 crore in the financial year 2024-25, revenue of Rs 14,592 crore has been collected, while in the financial year 2025-26, against a target of Rs 17,000 crore, revenue of Rs 10,345 crore has been received by December.
The meeting was also informed that the income of families associated with the Tin Collection Model has increased significantly. Chief Minister Mr. Sai, describing it as a successful example of livelihood enhancement, directed to further encourage this model.
On this occasion, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Mr. Subodh Kumar Singh, Chief Minister’s Secretary cum Secretary of Mineral Department Mr. P. Dayanand, Director Mr. Rajat Bansal, and other departmental officials were present.
