Chief Minister launches Sarthak and Rakshak Abhiyan

Initiative of the State Child Rights Protection Commission to bring awareness about child rights

Police personnel, Anganwadi workers and students honored on the 15th Foundation Day of the Commission

Raipur, June 17, 2025/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai launched the Sarthak and Rakshak Abhiyan to create awareness about child rights on the occasion of the 15th Foundation Day celebrations of the Chhattisgarh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights. Addressing the program organized at Pandit Deendayal Auditorium in Raipur on this occasion, he said that the State Child Rights Protection Commission has an important role in increasing awareness about child rights in the remote areas of the state. He said that new campaigns like Sarthak and Rakshak will prove effective in making the public aware of the rights of children.

Addressing the program, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that a strong society can be built only through education. In the remote areas of Chhattisgarh state, especially in Bastar and Surguja divisions, children go to other cities in search of work at a young age, but due to lack of information, they are often victims of exploitation. He said that our government is running many schemes focused on children and youth. Our government is providing schools, colleges, and coaching facilities to every village. Along with this, more and more facilities are being provided to the students through efforts in the field of education, Nalanda complex and works like Tribal Youth Hostel in Delhi.

Smt. Varnika Sharma, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, gave detailed information about the works of the commission. It is noteworthy that the Sarthak campaign is being run to bring awareness about child rights and the Rakshak campaign is being run to provide special information about child rights protection laws in universities. In the Foundation Day celebrations of the Commission, police personnel, Anganwadi workers and students who did better work for awareness of child rights were honored. Along with this, the new guidelines booklet of Chhattisgarh State Child Rights Protection Commission, Rakshak booklet and cartoon books based on Good Touch, Bed Touch Safe Touch, human trafficking, and right to education were also released.
