Chhattisgarh has witnessed significant positive changes in its education system, driven by the rationalization process. Prior to this initiative, 453 schools across the state lacked teachers. This issue has been resolved, and now, every school in Chhattisgarh has a teaching staff.
The rationalization also saw the deployment of teachers in 4728 of the 5936 single-teacher schools. This step marks a crucial advancement in educational standards, ensuring that students benefit from improved quality education.
Teacher shortages remain in some districts of the Bastar and Surguja divisions, resulting in approximately 1208 single-teacher schools. To rectify this, headmasters and lecturers will be promoted, and about 5000 teachers will be directly recruited in the near future. This should eliminate single-teacher schools and address staffing needs in schools with shortages.
The rationalization initiative was carried out in compliance with the Right to Education Act-2009 and the National Education Policy-2020, which renders the 2008 setup irrelevant at the primary and upper primary levels. Disciplinary actions have been taken against any officers or employees found to be involved in irregularities.
