In Balod district, a concerted effort is being made to combat malnutrition. Collector Divya Umesh Mishra has adopted Kumari Himanshi and Kumari Tejaswi, taking responsibility for their well-being and nutrition. The Collector interacted with the children and their families, offering them snacks and gathering information about their care. Furthermore, Zilla Panchayat CEO Sunil Chandravanshi adopted Pushparaj and Prince Thakur. This initiative extends to other leaders as well, including MP Bhojraj Nag, MLAs Anila Bhedia and Sangeeta Sinha, and District Panchayat President Tarini Pushpendra Chandrakar, all of whom have adopted malnourished children to support the cause. Collector Mishra has instructed the District Program Officer of the Women and Child Development Department to create a work plan and assign each district-level officer the responsibility of caring for a malnourished child. She also directed block-level officers to ensure proper care for malnourished children in their respective development blocks.
