    Chhattisgarh state honored by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India for outstanding work related to DMF

    Chhattisgarh’s commendable initiative for development and transparency in mining affected areas received national level सम्मान

    Raipur, July 9, 2025 / The Ministry of Mines, Government of India, New Delhi has honored the state of Chhattisgarh at the national level for its outstanding work under the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMF). Today, during a one-day “National DMF Workshop” organized at Scope Convention Center, New Delhi, Union Coal and Mines Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy honored the Secretary to the Chief Minister and Mineral Secretary Shri P. Dayanand by presenting a commendation letter.

    The Ministry of Mines, New Delhi, through the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana, is maintaining a database of DMFs of all states in the National DMF Portal. Chhattisgarh state was honored with a commendation letter for uploading 90 percent of the database related to the audit report of DMF in the State DMF Portal and National DMF Portal. In the workshop, Chhattisgarh’s efforts were presented as a model state and other states were also advised to emulate data uploading, transparency and ground implementation.

    It is noteworthy that the National DMF workshop was organized with the aim of increasing the effectiveness of the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana and DMF and promoting sustainable and inclusive development in mining areas. Secretaries, directors and collectors of mining affected districts from various states of the country participated in the program.

    It is noteworthy that the Chhattisgarh government is continuously working through DMF for inclusive development in various areas like education, health, drinking water, infrastructure and livelihood in mining affected areas. So far, 1,01,313 development works have been approved in the state at a cost of Rs 16,506 crore, out of which 70,318 works have been successfully completed.

    While adopting a transparent and public welfare approach in the implementation of DMF, the state government is ensuring the planning and monitoring of works in accordance with the local needs in each district. This policy aims not only at physical development but also at social empowerment.

    From Chhattisgarh, Secretary, Mineral Resources Department Shri P. Dayanand, Director Shri Rajat Bansal, along with the Collectors and DMF nodal officers of Balod, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Korba, Raigarh and Dantewada districts were present at the workshop.
