Chhattisgarh receives approval for 100 bridges costing over 375 crore under PM Janman Yojana

Chief Minister Mr. Sai said – The central government’s initiative is a historic step towards connecting PVTG communities to the mainstream, Chhattisgarh government will implement the works quickly and with quality

    Raipur, August 7, 2025/
Under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana (PM-JANMAN), the Government of India has approved 100 bridges for Chhattisgarh at an estimated cost of Rs 375.71 crore, with a total length of 6,569.56 meters. This approval has been given under the 2025–26 batch–II. With this latest approval, the state has now been sanctioned a total of 715 roads (2,449.108 kilometers) and 100 bridges under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana. On this approval, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Rural Development Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan. He said that the visionary initiative undertaken by the central government to empower Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) through the Jan-Man Yojana is important for a tribal-dominated state like Chhattisgarh. We see this approval not only as an approval of bridges and roads, but as a new path of development, trust and inclusion.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government will complete all these approved works on a fast track mode, with full quality and transparency, in accordance with the spirit of the central government, so that its direct benefit can be received by the PVTG population soon. The construction of these roads and bridges will not only make life easier in these inaccessible areas, but will also ensure connectivity to health, education, market and governance.

The Chief Minister said that this initiative is an important link in the resolve of the Hon’ble Prime Minister ji’s ‘Developed India @2047’, which ensures that no citizen, no matter how far or in a deprived area of the country, is deprived of the mainstream of development.

The Chief Minister has directed the concerned departments to start the construction work of the approved bridges and roads on a priority basis and ensure regular monitoring of all works, local public hearings, and time-bound progress reporting. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that with the cooperation of the central government, a historic change will be seen in the lives of the PVTG communities of Chhattisgarh in the coming time.
