    Chhattisgarh Police: Seven SPS Officers Gain IPS Rank

    In a recent announcement, seven officers from the Chhattisgarh State Police Service (SPS) have been promoted to the Indian Police Service (IPS). The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, formalized this decision with an order released on August 27, 2025.

    The UPSC had given its approval to the 2024 selection list on August 26, 2025. This list was formulated during a meeting of the selection committee on August 6, 2025. Based on this list, seven officers from the Chhattisgarh State Police Service (SPS) have been elevated to the rank of IPS.

    The newly promoted officers are:

    1. Pankaj Chandra (born June 21, 1972)
    2. Bhawana Pandey (born November 11, 1974)
    3. Vimal Kumar Bais (born July 1, 1968)
    4. Harish Rathore (born July 6, 1971)
    5. Vedvrat Sirmaur (born February 22, 1972)
    6. Rajshree Mishra (born June 19, 1970)
    7. Shweta Srivastava Sinha (born July 8, 1977)

    The Ministry of Home Affairs’ order also clarifies that the officers are appointed to fill seven vacant positions within the Chhattisgarh cadre. This promotion has significantly boosted the morale of the promoted officers and created a positive environment for other officers serving in the state police service.
