In a major boost to law enforcement, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated eight new cyber police stations and multiple residential buildings across districts today. Virtually connecting from the police headquarters in Naya Raipur, the CM unveiled projects worth over 255 crore rupees, hailing the day as a milestone for the state’s police force.
The new facilities include state-of-the-art cyber thanas, SDOP offices, police outposts, transit hostels, and comfortable housing for over 1,200 personnel. ‘These modern structures will inspire officers to work in a positive environment and discharge duties more effectively,’ Sai remarked, praising the agencies for their quality construction.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to strengthening internal security, the CM emphasized providing better amenities to ensure robust law and order. Deputy CM Vijay Sharma added that while five districts already have cyber stations, more will follow soon. Other inaugurations covered India Reserve Battalion campuses, new thana buildings in nine districts, and a Central Armed Force outpost in Mana.
Key projects include the 21st India Reserve Battalion at Karakabhat in Balod, police station at Sanaud, 20th IRB at Parsada in Mahasamund, and various outposts in Dhamtari, Raipur, Bastar, Bijapur, Sukma, Kanker, Narayanpur, Durg, Bemetara, Rajnandgaon, Surajpur, Korea, and Balrampur. Senior officials like Chief Secretary Vikas Shiel, DGP Arun Dev Gautam, and others attended the event.
This initiative comes amid rising cyber threats, positioning Chhattisgarh’s police for smarter crime-fighting. With dedicated cyber units, the state aims to curb digital offenses swiftly, enhancing public safety across urban and rural areas.
