Chhattisgarh News: Three doctors of the orthopedic department of a couple who came for treatment at Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS) have been accused of assault. According to family members, the reason behind this dispute was that the woman started asking the doctor to get her finger X-rayed. During that time, after the argument, the doctors got angry. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the family members reached Sims and created a ruckus.

According to eyewitnesses, Neha Maravi, husband of Vijay Maravi (35 years), resident of Kududand, is having pain in the fingers of his hand for few days. The woman along with her husband reached Sims for treatment on Friday morning. After getting the slip, the couple went to the orthopedic OPD. Where junior Dr. Dr. Tarun Kumar Thakur, Dr. Deepak Jangade and Dr. Sagar Kumar were sitting in a room. The woman showed her finger to the doctors and told them that she was in pain. Doctors said that the pain in the finger is due to nerve related problem. On this the woman asked for an X-ray of the finger, so that the situation becomes clear. A dispute started between the doctors and the woman regarding this matter. Seeing this the husband also joined the dispute. Family members allege that in the meanwhile the three doctors became so angry that they started beating the husband and wife.

    …the doctor will apologize

The assaulted couple and the doctors were taken to the Medical Superintendent’s room. During this, MS said that the doctor who assaulted him would apologize but the couple did not seem satisfied with his decision. The couple said that merely apologizing after the assault would do no good. Strict action should be taken against doctors.
