Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced a special emphasis on Bastar in the new industrial policy during the Thakur Joharni program in Narharpur, Kanker district. The event was graced by the presence of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda. Sai participated in traditional rituals, praying for the prosperity and well-being of the state’s residents. The policy aims to drive economic growth in Bastar and Surguja by creating jobs and self-employment opportunities for locals. The Chief Minister celebrated Thakur Joharni and Navakhai and praised the unity and traditions of the tribal community. The state is implementing a new education policy to promote learning and equip the youth for the future, supported by national institutions such as IIT, IIM, and Triple IIT. Efforts are also being made through institutions like Prayas and Eklavya. A Tribal Youth Hostel in Delhi is operating, and Nalanda campuses are being set up across Chhattisgarh. Sai highlighted the progress in combating Maoism and reaffirmed the aim to eliminate it by March 31, 2026. The state government, in collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board, is promoting animal husbandry and poultry farming to generate employment. Other initiatives include increasing compensation for tendu leaf collectors, the Charanpaduka distribution, and the Ramlala Darshan scheme. Atal Digital Seva Kendras will improve transparency within Gram Panchayats. The PM Janman Yojana and Dharti Aba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan are pivotal for tribal development. Arjun Munda spoke about the unique cultural identity of the tribal communities, emphasizing the importance of their connection to nature, culture, and awareness of their rights. The event included addresses by prominent figures, and Chief Minister Sai announced infrastructure projects and support for a local English medium school in the Narharpur area. The gathering was attended by a large number of local residents and officials.
