The Chhattisgarh government has greenlit the construction of 166 ‘Mahtari Sadans’ across various gram panchayats. These facilities are intended to promote women’s empowerment, self-reliance, and community participation among rural women. The initiative will provide spaces for women to come together, engage in social programs, and enhance their skills. Three ‘Mahtari Sadans’ are planned in the Manendragarh-Bharatpur-Chirmiri district, specifically in the villages of Duggi, Katkona, and Thaggaw. Each ‘Sadan’ will be constructed on 2,500 square feet of land and will include necessary infrastructure, like rooms, a veranda, a hall, a kitchen, a storeroom, a tube well, and community toilets. A budget of Rs 30 lakh has been approved for each center.
