In a major boost for infrastructure, the Union Budget has allocated a staggering ₹7,470 crore for railway development in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed profound gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for this historic provision.

The Chief Minister highlighted how the double-engine government’s relentless efforts are transforming the state’s rail sector. Compared to an average annual outlay of just ₹311 crore between 2009-14, this year’s allocation marks a phenomenal 24-fold increase. Currently, rail projects worth ₹51,080 crore are underway, encompassing new track constructions, station redevelopments, and critical safety upgrades.

A flagship initiative is the Raoghat-Jagdalpur rail project, set to connect the remote Bastar region. CM Sai described it as an invaluable gift from the Central government to the tribal communities, promising to unlock new avenues for regional growth and integration.

Approval for the Parmalkasa-Kharsia corridor and a new freight corridor will further revolutionize connectivity. These developments are expected to nearly double the number of passenger trains in the coming years, easing travel and boosting economic activity.

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 32 stations across Chhattisgarh are being modernized. Completed projects include Dongargarh (Phase-I), Ambikapur, Bhanupratappur, Bhilai, and Urkura. Passengers now enjoy two pairs of Vande Bharat Express and one pair of Amrit Bharat Express, delivering faster, safer, and more comfortable journeys.

CM Sai, speaking on behalf of Chhattisgarh’s people, thanked the Prime Minister and Railway Minister for these game-changing initiatives. He emphasized that this progress extends beyond tracks—it’s infusing new vitality into trade, tourism, industry, employment, and everyday lives across the state.
