Chhattisgarh’s draft electoral rolls are now available following a meticulous Special Intensive Revision (SIR). This significant update has resulted in the deletion of over 27 lakh names from the state’s voter list, emphasizing the commitment to an accurate and clean electoral roll. The Election Commission’s SIR process is designed for complete transparency, focusing on the inclusion of all eligible electors and the exclusion of those no longer qualified. A substantial number of electors, over 1.84 crore, submitted their enumeration forms during the revision period. The deleted names include over 6.42 lakh deceased persons, 19.13 lakh individuals who had shifted residence or were absent, and 1.79 lakh duplicate registrations. This successful undertaking was made possible by the diligent work of electoral officials across all districts, numerous registration officers, and a large team of volunteers, with active participation from political parties. To verify your name, visit the official Chhattisgarh CEO website or the national voter service portal and use the search function with your EPIC card number or other identifying details.
