Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai convened a high-level meeting today to deliberate on the comprehensive development of the Naxal-affected Bastar region. Emphasizing the decisive phase in combating Naxalism, Sai highlighted the success attributed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s leadership, and the bravery of security forces. He stressed the government’s commitment to permanently eradicate the violent ideology of Naxalism through sustained dialogue, development initiatives, and the expansion of basic amenities to win public trust.
Sai stated that the ‘double-engine’ government is focused on ensuring balanced and all-round development in Bastar. Both the state and central governments are dedicated to integrating Bastar into the mainstream of development as a top priority. A comprehensive action plan for Bastar’s development over the next three years will be prepared and implemented in a mission mode. The Chief Minister instructed all departments to collaborate effectively and directed secretaries to regularly visit Bastar to review the ground progress of various schemes.
The meeting also reviewed the rapid expansion of essential services like education, health, employment, roads, drinking water, electricity, and communication. Sai emphasized that bringing development to the remotest areas is crucial for strengthening public faith in governance. He noted the enthusiastic public participation in events like the Bastar Olympics and Bastar Pandum, indicating the region’s readiness to embrace peace and development.
Specific directives were issued for improving water supply from surface sources in fluoride-affected areas, expediting electrification in remaining villages, and accelerating the installation of mobile towers in remote locations. The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of achieving 100% Aadhaar card coverage for children through special campaigns.
