Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai led a review of the Women and Child Development Department’s initiatives, issuing key directives to officials. The review, held at the Mahanadi Bhavan, focused on the progress and implementation of various schemes. He emphasized the need for district-wise monitoring of programs aimed at women and children, with a detailed review planned for the upcoming Collector’s Conference.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the infrastructure, budget, and operations of the department. He highlighted the significance of the department in ensuring the nutrition and safety of children, adolescents, and women. He stressed the impact of careful and skilled care on the physical and mental development of young children.

He emphasized that children are the future of the nation and require the participation of all to strengthen their foundation. Departmental staff were instructed to work with initiative at the ground level, ensuring that every child receives supplementary nutrition and benefits from departmental schemes.

The discussion covered the distribution of nutritious food and hot meals in Anganwadi centers, including quantity, quality, and calorie standards, with an emphasis on continuous monitoring. The Chief Minister also inquired about the operation of 197 Anganwadi centers under the PM Janman Yojana, directing officials to focus on the overall development of children in the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) community.

Reviewing child nutrition indicators, the Chief Minister called for improvements. He highlighted that indicators help assess the actual situation, and corrective actions should be taken where deficiencies are found. The improved performance of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana was acknowledged, and he directed for continued progress. He also mentioned the importance of the Anganwadi workers’ role in building an emotional connection with children.

He also emphasized regular training for departmental staff, covering technical proficiency and research-oriented approaches. The meeting also included discussions on the Bal Vivah Mukt Chhattisgarh Abhiyan, Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, Sakhi One Stop Centre, Shakti Sadan, Women and Child Helpline, Mahila Kosh, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mission Vatsalya, and other schemes.
