In a significant move to elevate Jashpur’s tourism profile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Mayali-Bagicha Development Project at Mayali Nature Camp. Funded under the Union Government’s Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0’s CBDD sub-scheme, this Rs 10 crore initiative aims to transform the scenic Mayali area, the world-renowned Madheshwar Mountain, and the Kailash Cave in Bagicha into prime tourist hotspots.

Addressing the gathering, CM Sai congratulated locals and hailed the project as a historic milestone for Jashpur’s tourism growth. ‘Today, we lay a strong foundation for Mayali’s development,’ he said. ‘It will soon emerge as a global tourism hub.’

Mayali has long been synonymous with Madheshwar Mahadev, believed to house the world’s largest natural Shivling. The project will spotlight its religious and natural allure on national and international stages. Key features include a tourist resort and skill development center near Mayali Dam.

The state government’s new homestay policy will empower rural families to earn directly from tourism while offering visitors an authentic taste of tribal culture, forests, waterfalls, and mountains. ‘This is about sustainable eco-tourism and adventure,’ Sai emphasized.

For the youth, the project opens doors through a skill center training in tour guiding, hospitality, adventure sports, handicrafts, and digital bookings. This will not only spur employment but also showcase Jashpur’s cultural diversity worldwide.

Infrastructure upgrades include five tourist cottages, a conference hall, grand entrance gates, boundary walls, modern toilets, landscaping, and pathways. Religious sites will get enhanced access, while Kailash Cave will feature picnic spots, rest sheds, ghats, and renovated steps with railings.

Upon completion, the project promises a tourism boom, economic upliftment for locals, and a stronger national identity for the region’s natural and cultural treasures.
