Chhattisgarh CM buys clay lamp from street vendor, honors women’s labor

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stopped at a modest roadside stall on the Marine Drive in Raipur. He inspected a few earthen lamps displayed by Mira, a woman who earns her livelihood by selling these lamps. Impressed, the CM purchased one lamp for the upcoming “Blessing Lamp” ceremony under the Service Pledge Campaign and handed Mira a cash gift of one thousand rupees. The gesture highlighted the value of small‑scale entrepreneurship and praised Mira’s dedication, self‑respect and independence.

The surprise visit delighted onlookers, and the CM briefly inquired about Mira’s family and daily work, creating a warm, informal exchange.
