In a major relief for residents of remote areas, the Chhattisgarh government has greenlit the establishment of four new sub-registrar offices in key locations across the state. This decision aims to bring registry and registration services right to the doorsteps of common citizens, eliminating the need for long travels to district headquarters.

The new offices will be set up in Bhakhara (Dhamtari district), Lawan (tehsil headquarters in Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara district), and Sakri and Rajkishor Nagar in Bilaspur. Approved under the Registration Act-1908, these sub-registrar offices promise to streamline property registrations, saving time, money, and reducing congestion at main centers.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized that the government’s priority is to deliver administrative services at the grassroots level. ‘Our aim is good governance where citizens get hassle-free access to essential services nearby,’ he stated. This move is expected to boost local economies by encouraging faster property transactions and injecting vitality into regional markets.

Finance and Commercial Tax Registration Minister O.P. Chaudhary highlighted the transformative reforms already underway in the department. Ten revolutionary changes, including auto-deed generation, Aadhaar-based biometric verification, home-based registry options, and WhatsApp services, will now extend to these new offices. Features like online burden-free certificates, integrated cashless payments, DigiLocker integration, and khasra number-based online searches will make the process transparent and swift.

Local residents have welcomed the development, seeing it as a step towards decentralization. With these offices, bureaucratic hurdles diminish, paving the way for efficient administration and empowered communities. The state government continues its push for digital innovation in public services, setting a benchmark for others to follow.
