CG News: Amit Pandey. In Dongargarh, the police had disclosed the consignment of illegal liquor worth lakhs of rupees. Now more shocking revelations have been made in this case and the police have now arrested 8 accused associated with this entire game. After the seizure of the liquor, politics started in this case and the opposition had made many serious allegations alleging that the accused were not arrested.
In fact, a large racket of illegal liquor smuggling in Dongargarh has been busted today. Police raided a farmhouse on Karvari Road and seized 3888 bulk liters of liquor worth about Rs 27 lakh. This liquor was being brought from Madhya Pradesh to sell it in Chhattisgarh. In this action, eight accused including farmhouse owner Rohit Netam alias Sonu were arrested.
On March 29, the police received secret information that a large stock of illegal liquor has been dumped in Rohit Netam’s farmhouse located on Karvari Road, along with the information, the smugglers also got a clue and they all escaped from the farm house. During the investigation at the form house, the police found a fake label of Chhattisgarh on liquor bottles which were sold in the local market. Along with this, 432 boxes of liquor, thousands of empty bottles, fake stickers, holograms and other ingredients were also recovered in the farmhouse. But due to non -arrest of the accused, the police was getting very bad.
The kingpin of this racket was not a new name for Rohit Netam alias Sonu police. Already cases related to illegal liquor, assault and gambling are registered against him. He was operating this trafficking business in a hi -tech manner. He had installed CCTV cameras and WiFi in his farmhouse, so that he gets information about any suspected movement on mobile immediately. Even during the raid, he was watching the police’s raid live through the camera and escaped after getting a chance. However, the police later caught him. A special investigation team (SIT) was formed on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg to catch the accused, which included officials of Dongargarh police station and cyber cell. This team searched CCTV footage, identified the suspects and arrested eight accused by raiding at different places.
The arrested accused include Daljit Singh alias Raja, Mohit Kurre, Ravi Kandra, Siddharth Phule, Sonu Yadav, Vishal Mishra and Bhuvan Kandra. There are already several criminal cases against all these, including crimes like illegal liquor smuggling, kidnapping, assault and gambling.
How was the network of illicit liquor going on?
This gang was working in a very organized manner. Chhota Katti alias Nandkumar Verma, a resident of Mohara, and his partner ‘bone’ brought liquor from Madhya Pradesh and dumped in Rohit Netam’s farmhouse. After this, by applying fake stickers and holograms here, it was made the liquor of the Chhattisgarh brand. Then late at night, this liquor was sold in different areas of the city by filling in small packs from Scooty. Rohit Netam had maintained a complete setup of this illegal liquor sale under the guise of a grocery shop at his house. Police investigation has also revealed that the network of this gang can be even bigger and some influential people can also be involved in it.
The police have arrested eight accused in this case, but now the question is whether this entire network is limited to these people only? Fake holograms, stickers and government sealing rolls from farmhouse are indicating that this business of liquor smuggling can be part of a large network. At present, the police is questioning all the arrested accused and the search for other people involved in the case is going on.
