Manendra Patel, Durg. A massive fire broke out in the Hanuman Rice Mill located in Kuthrel village of Anda police station area of the district this morning, creating panic in the area. The operator informed the fire department of the district administration. Fire brigade personnel, with the help of four fire brigade vehicles, brought the fire under control after 4 hours of hard work.
Fire Department Commandant Nagendra Kumar Singh said that on receiving information about the fire in the morning, the fire brigade was dispatched. On reaching there it was found that the fire was very big. After this more vehicles were sent. The fire was so fierce that paddy and gunny bags were burnt to ashes, but the fire brigade personnel brought the fire under control by spraying water from all sides. During this time, 19 vehicles of water were used to extinguish the fire.
Rice mill owner Chhagan Lal Chadak said that the fire was caused by a short circuit. They have not been able to fully assess the loss due to the fire, but there has been a loss of Rs 50-60 lakh.
