Lalit Thakur, Rajnandgaon. The police has solved the gruesome murder of a woman in the district within a few hours. The woman was murdered by none other than her husband. That too because the husband had doubts about his wife’s character and she was refusing to go back to her in-laws’ house. After which the accused committed the murder by attacking with a tangia. This case is from Lalbagh police station area.
According to the information, sister-in-law Bhuneshwari Sahu and aunt-in-law were weeding the fields in Pairi Bant Khar of Budhbharda village of Lalbag police station area. Meanwhile, Bhuneshwari Sahu’s husband Omprakash Sahu came on his motorcycle and parked the bike on the side of the road and came to the field with a tangia in his hand and said to his wife that when I tell her to go to her in-laws’ house, she makes an excuse of being unwell and is working in the field here. Saying that I will not leave you today, he started beating Bhuneshwari Sahu with the intention of killing her. Seeing this, sister-in-law and aunt of the deceased Bhuneshwari came to intervene, but the accused pushed them also and said that if you people come between husband and wife then I will kill both of you. While threatening, accused Omprakash Sahu attacked the back of Bhuneshwari Sahu’s neck 3-4 times with the tangia in his hand due to which Bhuneshwari fell down. Profuse blood started flowing from her head and neck and Omprakash Sahu threw the blood-soaked tangia near the same ridge and fled with his motorcycle.
In this case, on the directions of the Superintendent of Police, the police formed a team to investigate the case and trace the accused. On the information of the informer, the police surrounded the accused near Mokhli culvert and arrested him. Along with this, the tangia and bike Hero Honda used in the incident have been confiscated and the accused has been sent to judicial custody.
