Raipur. During the Question Hour in the Assembly today, Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant sought information about the amount received as a center till 2025 under the Water Life Mission. The Leader of Opposition retaliated when the BJP MLA got a lower amount from the center of receiving the amount of less money from the central government and said that how long will you survive with the name of the previous government.
In response to the question of Leader of Opposition Dr. Charan Das Mahant, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw said that 191.59 crore has been received from 2024-25 February 2024. 187.12 crore has been approved as the state amount. On this, Dr. Mahant said that the center and the state should be equal. An amount of Rs 2250 crore was to come, the government did not give the double engine.
On this, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw said that the Government of India has extended the period of water life mission by 2028. The work of water life mission has been completed 50-60%, accordingly the amount has come. There are 29126 sanctioned schemes, more than 41 thousand tanks have been built. 5908 tanks have been constructed but drinking water supply has not started.
On this, Charan Das Mahant asked whether the payment has not been made even after the work. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw said that payment is a continuous process. Payment will be made on the basis of availability of funds. On this, Mahant said that the contractors are not working due to lack of money. The work has slowed down due to the contractors not working, so the central government is not giving the amount.
Former minister and BJP MLA Rajesh Munat said that this situation is today due to the deeds of the old government. When you had government, they could give instructions. On this, Leader of Opposition Dr. Mahant said that how long will you survive by saying that the old government is. You can get an inquiry done, get an inquiry done.
