Cabinet meeting: Big decision of Sai government, paddy will be procured from November 14, dependents of deceased Panchayat teachers will get compassionate appointment…

Shivam Mishra, Raipur. The decision to purchase paddy from November 14 was taken in the cabinet meeting today chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. Along with this, it was also decided to provide compassionate appointment to the eligible dependents of the deceased teacher (Panchayat) cadre employees.

The policy of paddy procurement and custom milling at support price in the Kharif marketing year 2024-25 was approved in the cabinet meeting held at Mahanadi Bhawan. On the basis of the recommendation of the Cabinet Sub-Committee, it was decided to start purchasing paddy in cash and linking from the farmers of the state at support price during the Kharif marketing year 2024-25 in the state from November 14, 2024. Paddy procurement in the state will be done till January 31, 2025.

The process of farmer registration is going on through the Integrated Farmer Portal by the Agriculture Department for purchasing paddy at support price, which will continue till 31 October 2024. It is estimated that 160 lakh tonnes of paddy will be procured in the year 2024-25. The biometric system for paddy procurement at support price will remain in force like the previous year.

In the Council of Ministers, it was decided to supply maximum two tokens to marginal and small farmers and maximum three tokens to large farmers for controlled and systematic procurement of paddy in the procurement centres. Paddy will be purchased through electronic weighing machines in all procurement centres. Approval has been given to purchase 4.02 lakh bales of new jute gunny bags for paddy purchase through Jute Commissioner. A total of 8 lakh bales of gunny will be required to purchase paddy.

In the meeting of the Council of Ministers, it was decided to pay honorarium for a total of 12 months at the rate of Rs 18,420 per month to the data entry operators working in cooperative societies in the Kharif marketing year 2023-24. The total expenditure on this will be Rs 60 crore 54 lakh. For the payment of which, like in previous years, the amount will be supplied to Markfed.

It has been decided to withdraw 49 cases from the court as recommended by the sub-committee of the Council of Ministers constituted regarding withdrawal of cases related to purely political movements from the court in public interest.

The Council of Ministers has extended the recruitment process for appointment to the post of Subedar/Sub Inspector Cadre/Platoon Commander in Rule 8 (2) of Chhattisgarh Police Executive (Non-Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules 2021 only once in the year 2024 within the prescribed maximum age limit of 05. An important decision has been taken to provide relaxation of one year. The maximum age limit including all relaxations will not exceed 45 years.

The draft of Chhattisgarh Rural Drinking Water Operation and Maintenance Rules, 2024 was approved to ensure supply of clean drinking water to every house in all the Gram Panchayats of the state. Under which, along with its responsibilities, the General Administration Committee of the Panchayat will also look after the operation and maintenance of the rural drinking water system. Apart from determining water charges with the approval of Gram Sabha, it will decide on new connections, financial management, repairs, determine drinking water quality and resolve complaints.

An important decision was taken to provide compassionate appointment to the eligible dependents of the deceased Teacher (Panchayat) cadre employees. Under this, such teacher (Panchayat) cadre employees who died during service, and whose dependents are eligible for compassionate as per the rules, will be given compassionate appointment as per their eligibility on the basis of Chhattisgarh Teacher (Panchayat) Cadre Rules 2018. In such a situation, it has also been decided to relax the earlier order of providing posts to the Panchayat and Rural Development Department to fill the posts from the School Education Department, so that compassionate appointment can be provided to the eligible dependents of the deceased.

Amendment in Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan (MISA/DIR: Persons detained for political or social reasons) Samman Nidhi Rules, 2008 was approved. Under which the deceased democracy fighters will be cremated with state honors and an assistance amount of Rs 25,000 will be given to their families for the funeral.

To provide more protective features in Excise Adhesive Label (Hologram) hologram to be pasted on domestic/foreign liquor bottles, it was decided to purchase hologram from Bharat Securities Press, Nashik Road (Maharashtra), a Government of India undertaking.

Under the Industrial Policy 2019-24 of Chhattisgarh State, approval was given to determine special investment incentive package for steel down stream projects, ethanol units and cement industries of core sector.
