BREAKING: IPS GP Singh gets big relief from High Court, court stays FIR lodged

Virendra Gahwai, Bilaspur. IPS GP Singh has got a big relief from the High Court. The double bench of the High Court has stayed the FIR registered against him in Supela police station. GP Singh had filed a petition in the High Court to quash this FIR.

According to the information, in the year 2015, Durg resident Kamal Sen had a dispute with builder Singhania regarding business transactions. During this time, Singhania told Sen to call IPS GP Singh, but there was no conversation on the phone. Six years later, in 2021, Kamal Sen lodged an FIR in Supela police station saying that GP Singh had threatened him by demanding Rs 20 lakh. On the application of Kamal Sen, a crime of blackmail was registered against GP Singh in Supela police station of Bhilai. IPS Singh filed a petition in the High Court to cancel this FIR. The case was heard in the DB of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Rajni Dubey. The court acknowledged that the complainant lodged a police report after 6 years, which is a very long time. Along with this, to register a criminal case against a public servant, permission has to be taken under Section 197, which was not done. Along with this, the High Court has put a stay on this FIR.

Let us tell you that crimes were registered against IPS GP Singh in different cases during the Congress rule. He was also sent to jail and dismissed. He filed an appeal against this in CAT. While giving a decision in his favor, CAT has ordered the state government to cancel all the cases registered against him and reinstate them within four weeks.
