On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, along with his wife Smt. Kaushalya Sai, reached Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba Dham located in village Kosmanara at one o’clock late at night during his visit to Raigarh. He performed worship of Lord Bholenath and Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba and wished for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state. On this occasion, the Chief Minister extended his best wishes to all the people of the state on the occasion of Mahashivratri festival.

During this time, Chief Minister Shri Sai laid the foundation stone for various development works costing Rs 1.20 crore under the District Mineral Trust fund. The proposed works include shed construction with granite flooring in front of the main building, shed construction for visitors’ rest and dining, construction of toilet complex building, and cement concrete road construction for the parking area. Congratulating the local residents for these works, he said that this will provide better facilities to the devotees. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that this Dham located in Kosmanara is a major center of devotion and faith. The spiritual energy here provides a positive direction and self-confidence to society. He said that the state government is continuously moving forward on the path of public welfare with the blessings of the gurus and the trust of the people.

It is noteworthy that this Dham, located about 7 kilometers from the Raigarh district headquarters, has been a major center of devotion for devotees for years. A large number of devotees reach here to have darshan of Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba and Lord Bholenath. According to local folklore, Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba has been in deep penance since 1998. He received the title ‘Shri Shri 108’ in 2003, after which the Dham’s fame increased further. It is said that Baba collected stones, created a Shivling, and made that place his place of penance. His penance, characterized by meditating on Lord Bholenath in an open space during all three seasons – monsoon, summer, and winter – has become his special identity.

On this occasion, Mayor Shri Jeevardhan Chauhan, Nagar Nigam Chairman Shri Digri Lal Sahu, local public representatives, Sarpanch, distinguished citizens, Collector Shri Mayank Chaturvedi, Senior Superintendent of Police Shri Shashimohan Singh, and other administrative officers, along with a large number of devotees, were present.
