The whole matter is in the year 2021, when the government had sanctioned crores of rupees for works like bamboo harvesting, soil climb and fencing in Bortalav village of Dongargarh Forest Zone and Katema village of Khairagarh district. But the ground reality is something else.
According to complainant Vilas Jambhulkar, crores of rupees were deposited in the accounts of the villagers in the name of these works, but in reality no work was done. What then? The employees of the forest department lured the villagers and withdraw money from the bank and withdrew. In return, he was given a tingling of only 1000 rupees!
Fake payment in the name of pregnant woman
The extent of corruption was exceeded when even pregnant women and school students were dragged in this game. Payment of wages was shown in the name of a woman from Bacherabhatha, who was pregnant at that time. Now the question arises that how could the woman who was pregnant at that time be wages?
School student made laborers in paper
The victim Lokeshwari Sinha said that she never worked in the forest department, yet money was invested in her account and later withdrawn from her. Similarly, fake payment was also made in the name of Hemant Kumar, a school student from village Bhandarpur. The school’s principal Madhuri Sahu confirmed that the student was present in the class every day, but on government papers he was doing ‘wages in the forest department’!
Stumbling for years for action
Complainant Vilas Jambhulkar has been wandering from rate to rate for the last three years for this scam paper. Several complaints were lodged against the forest department, but the result was three parts of Dhaka! Complaint reached the Prime Minister’s Office, documents were also found from there, but the investigation was again handed over to the same officers who themselves are culprit of this corruption. How to expect action in such a situation? The larger the case, the deeper its roots!
Fear of involvement of big fish
Not only the lower level employees, but also the involvement of big officials and leaders is being expressed in this scam of crores. This is the reason that no action is being taken on anyone despite being proved to be corruption. This scam of Dongargarh Forest Department has become a living example of corruption. The question is, how long such scams will continue and how long will the administration and administration remain blind?
In the name of investigation, the officer silenced
However, the responsibilities have again constituted a three -member committee to investigate the scam, which includes Dongargarh Tehsildar Mukesh Thakur, Deputy Forest Officer Purnima Rajput and MNREGA officer Vijay Pratap Singh, but this inquiry committee has also been made for three months. The officials have passed, still sitting silently citing the investigation.
