Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the ‘Dev Hast’ robotic surgical system at AIIMS Raipur, a significant development in the realm of medical care within Chhattisgarh. He emphasized that the introduction of robotic surgery signifies a pivotal moment, representing a new era of enhanced treatment options for the state’s population. The Chief Minister stated that this advancement is a step toward providing the people with access to modern and improved healthcare services.
In addition, the Chief Minister declared that a state-of-the-art ‘Parivar Niwas’ would be built at AIIMS Raipur to accommodate the families of patients admitted from Chhattisgarh and other states. He highlighted the role of doctors as essential to life and the groundbreaking nature of the ‘Dev Hast’ system, which will benefit not only Chhattisgarh but also patients from neighboring states who are receiving treatment at AIIMS Raipur. He also shared a personal account of his connection to AIIMS Raipur, discussing his role as a Member of Parliament in advocating for the establishment of an AIIMS branch in Chhattisgarh to improve access to healthcare. He understands the critical need for accommodation for patient families. The state government is actively expanding healthcare infrastructure, approving five new medical colleges within the last 20 months and is developing a 5,000-bed Medicity in Nava Raipur. Chhattisgarh has seen a remarkable increase in medical colleges, from just one at the time of its formation to fifteen today.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal spoke on the evolution of medical care, highlighting the need to address rising diseases. He spoke about the significance of robotic surgery in contemporary medicine, underscoring its potential to boost medical capabilities. The Chief Minister presented a prize to Jyotsna Kiradu, who won the naming contest for the ‘Dev Hast’ surgical system. The event was attended by dignitaries and medical professionals.
