Purushottam Patra, Gariaband. Two accused, who hunted bears with potash bombs in Udanti Sita River Sanctuary area, were arrested by the anti-poaching team from Odisha border Kalimati after 25 days. These accused used to hunt bears by purchasing bombs from hunters of Madhya Pradesh. Gariaband Police Cyber Cell had an important contribution in this action. The accused are suspected to be involved in a big gang operating in Central India.
The hunter from Madhya Pradesh had escaped even in 2020
On Monday, confidential information was received that a bear has been hunted with a potash bomb under the hill in room number 1243 of Indagaon (Ghurvaguri) buffer zone. After this, under the guidance of Sudhir Aggarwal, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Raipur Chhattisgarh, Vishvesh Kumar Jha, Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), Field Director Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve Raipur and Varun Jain, Deputy Director Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve Gariaband, under the guidance of accused Hazari’s father Tulsiram and Uttam. Father Khageshwar was arrested by the anti-poaching team and brought to the office of Assistant Director Udanti (Mainpur) for questioning. Both the accused talked about hunting the bear with potash bombs.
Have killed 6 pigs with potash bombs
The accused told that, a year ago, they purchased one potash bomb for Rs 500 from a person of hunter community who had come from Katni, Madhya Pradesh. Accused Hazari, along with accused Uttam, killed five to six pigs with potash bombs and sold the pig’s mutton at the rate of Rs 500 per kg and after purchasing potash bombs from a hunter from Madhya Pradesh, he hunted a bear on April 8. After registering a case against both the accused, Bhupendra Kumar Soni, Assistant Forester Range Officer, Indagaon, arrested them and presented them in the court.
Bear skin and 1 nail, wild boar’s jaw and 3 teeth, monitor lizard skin and snares have already been recovered from the house of the accused. In this action, anti-poaching team Sushil Sagar range officer Indagaon (Dhurvaguri) buffer, Gariaband police cyber cell in-charge Satish Yadav, forest guard Domar Kashyap, Om Prakash Rao, Faleshwar Dewan, Virendra Dhruv, Bhupendra Bhediya, Yagya Malti Yadav and Indagaon (Dhurvaguri) The staff had a special contribution.
