    More than 25.49 lakh registered farmers in the state sold paddy; farmers have been paid more than 310 billion rupees.

    Mahasamund district is ranked first in the state, procuring 11.04 lakh metric tons of paddy.

    Paddy procurement in Chhattisgarh under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) during this Kharif season has reached a record 149.25 lakh metric tons. This includes 81.98 lakh metric tons of coarse rice, 10.75 lakh metric tons of fine rice, and 56.52 lakh metric tons of Sarna rice. This paddy procurement is the highest ever since the state’s formation. The paddy procurement process continued from November 14, 2024, to January 31, 2025. During this period, 25,49,592 registered farmers in the state sold their paddy. Farmers have been paid ₹31,008 crore through bank linking. Mahasamund district ranks first in the state with the highest paddy procurement of 11.04 lakh metric tons. Bemetara district is second with 9.38 lakh metric tons, and Balodabazar-Bhatapara district is third with 8.56 lakh metric tons.

    Food Department officials stated that along with paddy procurement, the lifting of paddy for custom milling is also being expedited. So far, DOs and TOs have been issued for the lifting of more than 123 lakh metric tons of paddy. Against this, more than 103 lakh metric tons of paddy has already been lifted. The lifting of paddy is being continuously carried out through 4102 registered rice millers. Last year, 144.92 lakh metric tons of paddy was procured.

    Information received from the Food Department indicates that the following quantities of paddy were procured from various districts (in quintals): Bastar (27,60,712), Bijapur (11,97,888), Dantewada (3,34,315), Kanker (53,14,290), Kondagaon (31,24,810), Narayanpur (3,80,758), Sukma (9,29,389), Bilaspur (69,19,834), Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi (14,05,797), Janjgir-Champa (63,27,930), Korba (29,15,548), Mungeli (55,60,324), Raigarh (50,87,976), Sakti (51,37,411), Sarangarh-Bilaigarh (46,56,713), Balod (75,65,598), Durg (57,61,071), Kawardha (64,93,622), Rajnandgaon (70,14,883), Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai (40,37,641), Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki (2,22,426), Dhamtari (61,98,136), Gariaband (53,53,499), Raipur (69,97,417), Balrampur-Ramanujganj (29,70,361), Jashpur (37,39,371), Korea (12,84,751), Surguja (36,46,903), Surajpur (39,72,044), and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur (9,69,895).
