Influenced by the increasing action of security forces in Naxal affected areas and the rehabilitation policy of Chhattisgarh government, Maoists are leaving the path of violence and joining the mainstream of development. Today, six Naxalites including a Naxalite couple active in Sukma district have surrendered. Naxalites have taken this step of surrender under the influence of “Chhattisgarh Naxalism Eradication and Rehabilitation Policy” and “Niyad Nella Naar” scheme.
A reward of Rs 10 lakh was declared on the surrendered Naxalite couple, while there was a reward of Rs 05 lakh each on 01 female and 01 male Naxalite and Rs 02 lakh each on 02 male Naxalite. Overall, a reward of Rs 24 lakh was announced on these Naxalites.
District Force, DRG, Special Intelligence Branch Sukma and Range Field Team (RFT) Konta and 02, 50 Corps CRPF have been successful in encouraging Naxalites to surrender.
