NEW DELHI: The federal government has made police verification of SIM card sellers necessary and discontinued the availability of bulk connections to curb fraudulent actions, Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw mentioned on Thursday.

The minister mentioned that the federal government has disconnected 52 lakh cell connections.

Whilst 67,000 sellers were blacklisted, 300 FIRs were filed in opposition to SIM card sellers since Might 2023.
