Dehradun: In a major boost for one of India’s grandest religious gatherings, the Central Government has sanctioned ₹500 crore for the preparations of the Haridwar Kumbh Mela. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced this while interacting with party workers during Holi celebrations at the BJP office in Dehradun on Monday.
Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state is gearing up for a spectacular Kumbh Mela that will draw millions of devotees. Dhami emphasized that the event will be organized on an unprecedented scale, with the state administration, Mela authorities, and district officials working tirelessly to ensure seamless arrangements.
The Chief Minister highlighted the rapid development pace of Uttarakhand compared to other states. He extended Holi greetings to the people of the state and the nation, describing the festival as a unifying force that strengthens bonds of love and relationships.
In a related development, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Uttarakhand on March 7. Dhami expressed confidence that under PM Modi’s leadership, the Kumbh will be a resounding success. Strict instructions have been issued to officials for flawless event management, including robust security, efficient traffic and parking systems, cleanliness, water supply, electricity, and healthcare services.
Dhami reiterated his commitment to state development with renewed vigor post-Holi. In a social media post, he urged citizens to shun negativity and ego, embracing positivity for societal and national progress during the auspicious Holika Dahan.
