New Delhi: In a significant decision prompted by the escalating conflict in the Middle East, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed board examinations scheduled for March 2 in seven countries. The move prioritizes student safety amid rising tensions in the region.

CBSE-affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will not conduct Class 10 and 12 exams on the planned date. Officials emphasized that current circumstances pose serious risks to students and staff.

A high-level meeting is set for March 3 to assess the situation for exams starting from March 5. Decisions on future schedules will follow this review, with revised dates for postponed papers to be announced soon.

Parents and students are urged to stay connected with their schools and check official CBSE channels for updates, avoiding unverified rumors. The board assures that academic interests will be safeguarded, with schedules adjusted to minimize disruption to preparations.

The postponement comes as security measures intensify across the Middle East following recent military actions, including strikes on Iranian targets by Israel and the US. These developments have made exam conduction increasingly challenging, prompting CBSE’s precautionary step.

While students await further announcements, CBSE continues to monitor the volatile situation closely, committed to ensuring a fair and safe examination process for all.
