Patna has taken a decisive step in the tragic death of a NEET aspirant, handing over the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Bihar government ministers and JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad have rallied behind the move, vowing unwavering support for the victim’s family.

Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, speaking exclusively to reporters, emphasized that no stone will be left unturned. ‘The family need not worry; every stringent measure will be taken to ensure justice. The culprits will be behind bars,’ he declared firmly. He also revealed that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has already compiled crucial evidence, including video footage and call detail records (CDR), which will bolster the CBI’s probe.

Bihar Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal dismissed attempts to tarnish the state’s police and government. ‘A thorough investigation was conducted, uncovering every detail. Yet, some are spreading rumors to defame us,’ he said. The demand for a CBI inquiry came directly from the victim’s parents and family on Friday, prompting the state to request central intervention.

Minister Lakhdendra Paswan reinforced the commitment: ‘Justice will prevail, no matter how powerful the accused. No one is above the law. Legal action is underway against all involved. This NDA government neither shields the guilty nor frames the innocent.’ Chief Minister Nitish Kumar personally urged the Centre for the CBI probe, with full cabinet backing.

Minister Mohammad Jama Khan added a note of finality: ‘The CBI is a formidable agency. The truth will now emerge.’

The case revolves around the suspicious death of a young woman preparing for NEET in a Patna hostel. Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Samrat Choudhary announced the development on social media platform X on Saturday. As the nation watches, Bihar pledges transparency and accountability in this high-stakes inquiry.
