Brajesh Pathak slams SP and Akhilesh Yadav in Ayodhya

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak travelled to Ayodhya on Sunday and launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP) and its national president Akhilesh Yadav. He alleged that the SP’s tenure was marked by a rise in goonda culture and mafia networks, and that the shooting of kar sevaks during the temple row still haunts the people of Ayodhya.

Pathak said the SP leader is "still dreaming in a single day" and that the people of Uttar Pradesh will never accept him. He questioned Akhilesh Yadav’s proposed visit and participation in a Ramkatha, calling it a personal agenda unrelated to the religious significance of the city.

The deputy chief minister accused the SP and the Congress of acting against Sanatan culture, suggesting they may wear different costumes to win votes, but the electorate sees through the façade. He reaffirmed that Ayodhya is the land of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman, and that the ongoing construction of the Ram temple will proceed despite any political opposition.

Pathak promised a grander Deepotsav this year, claiming it will create an atmosphere where citizens feel the presence of Lord Ram himself. He reminded voters that the SP has been given four chances to govern, yet its rule is still remembered for "one district, one mafia" practices, restrictions on women's freedom, and the blood‑stained Sarayu river after the kar sevak firing.

He also dismissed the opposition’s criticism of the Bharat Taxi scheme, explaining that it is a Ministry of Cooperation initiative where the vehicle owner also serves as driver. Concluding, Pathak warned that the SP’s legacy is cursed by Lord Ram and the party will not return to power in Uttar Pradesh.
