The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is launching a comprehensive campaign across India to promote self-reliance and indigenous products, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. This initiative comes at a time when the nation is navigating complex global trade dynamics.

The ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ will be a multi-month effort, spanning from September 25th to December 25th. The campaign will include a range of activities like business conferences, outreach programs, and marches that will be conducted throughout the country. The primary audience for these events will include business owners, industry professionals, farmers, women, and entrepreneurs. The aim is to raise awareness and motivate citizens to embrace indigenous products and practices.

Specifically, the campaign will focus on promoting Swadeshi goods during the upcoming festive season. This will involve encouraging consumers to purchase Indian-made products, supporting retailers who sell Swadeshi items, and promoting the use of traditional diyas over foreign lighting during Diwali.

The campaign is being spearheaded under the guidance of BJP’s National President, Jagat Prakash Nadda. This push for self-reliance is particularly relevant amidst ongoing tariff disputes with the United States. India is simultaneously exploring new export markets in Europe and other regions, while also emphasizing the importance of reducing reliance on foreign imports by promoting indigenous products.

The ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’ will aim to instill a sense of self-reliance among the people of India. This will be achieved by encouraging the use of indigenous products and the adoption of Swadeshi values. The campaign will commence on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay and conclude on the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

In the first phase of the campaign, ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp’ conferences will be held in all districts in October. The second phase, taking place in November and December, will see the conferences extend to all mandals. These events will ensure the active involvement of social and business organizations, as well as local artisans and craftsmen.
