Patna’s political landscape heated up following the tragic death of a NEET aspirant, with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) staging protests that drew sharp criticism from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders. Bihar BJP state president Sanjay Sarawgi led the charge, declaring that RJD has no moral right to speak on women’s safety.

Sarawgi accused the RJD regime of turning a blind eye to countless atrocities against women during their rule. ‘They ignored numerous cases back then,’ he stated firmly. In contrast, he praised the current administration’s swift response, including the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under senior officials to ensure a fair and expedited probe.

Minister Dilip Jaiswal took a sarcastic swipe, suggesting RJD’s protests stem from a lack of substantive work. ‘They have nothing better to do,’ he remarked. Minister Shravan Kumar labeled the incident heartbreaking and condemnable, warning that perpetrators would face no mercy. He assured strict action against the guilty, dismissing the protests as political theater laced with showmanship.

Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash echoed these sentiments, highlighting rampant injustices against women under Lalu Yadav’s era. ‘RJD lacks any ethical standing to lecture on women’s issues; the public knows their true colors,’ he asserted.

As accusations fly between parties, the government reaffirms its commitment to justice, balancing political rhetoric with promises of accountability in this sensitive case.
