New Delhi witnessed a fierce political showdown as BJP leaders unleashed sharp criticism against Congress chief Rahul Gandhi for his controversial remark labeling BJP MP Ravneet Singh Bittu as a ‘traitor friend.’ BJP Rajya Sabha MP Babu Ram Nishad condemned the statement, accusing Congress of harboring deep-seated hatred towards the Sikh community.

Nishad pointed out that Gandhi’s words were not isolated but reflective of a long-standing animosity. ‘Such derogatory comments have no place in a civilized society,’ he asserted, emphasizing that they insult not just an individual but an entire community. He recalled historical instances where Congress’s alleged bias against Sikhs had surfaced, urging the public to recognize this pattern.

Joining the chorus, BJP leader Dr. K. Laxman linked the remark to past tragedies like the anti-Sikh riots, calling it a manifestation of entrenched prejudice. ‘Congress has exploited communities for political gain for decades, but an awakened electorate will no longer tolerate it,’ Laxman declared. He stressed that in a democracy, such rhetoric undermines unity and progress.

The controversy spilled over into parliamentary disruptions, with BJP’s Brijlal slamming Congress for stalling Lok Sabha proceedings. He accused the opposition alliance of orchestrating chaos to evade discussions on key public issues. ‘The nation has seen how Congress deploys women MPs to block proceedings—it’s unacceptable,’ Brijlal said, demanding an apology.

Union Minister BL Verma amplified the outrage, terming Gandhi’s comment an insult to every Sikh. ‘This exposes Congress’s true colors,’ he said, highlighting Gandhi’s history of inflammatory statements. Meanwhile, Brijlal raised objections to the film ‘Ghooskhore Pandit,’ warning that its title could incite caste divisions and calling for a name change.

As tensions simmer in the capital’s political corridors, BJP leaders vowed to hold Congress accountable, framing the episode as yet another example of divisive politics. With Parliament sessions under scrutiny, the public debate on community respect and legislative conduct intensifies, setting the stage for prolonged confrontation.
