New Delhi, February 22: BJP national spokesperson Ajay Alok unleashed a scathing attack on Uttar Pradesh’s former governments on Sunday, accusing opposition parties of plundering the state for decades. Speaking exclusively to IANS, Alok charged that the Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Congress colluded to drag UP to the third spot among India’s most backward states over 27 years.

‘These facts are undeniable,’ Alok asserted. ‘For 27 years, these parties governed UP, turning it into the third-poorest state in development metrics. They not only looted UP but tarnished India’s global image. Fast-forward eight years: BJP rules both UP and the Center. Today, UP ranks among the top three states in investment, infrastructure, law and order, and jobs. Nationally, India has surged into the world’s top four economies. Why? Because we prioritize growth over graft.’

Alok mocked the opposition’s entrenched corruption. ‘They started a looting tradition and can’t escape it. They’ve morphed into political wolves, but voters see through them now.’

He reserved sharp criticism for Youth Congress’s shirtless protest at the AI India Impact Summit. ‘Congress stands exposed, as PM Modi warned. Their politics is already naked—why strip further? It’s pure desperation and bankruptcy.’

In a satirical jab, Alok compared Congress to uninvited performers at celebrations who disrobe if unpaid. ‘Their game is negativity and stunts, not development.’

On the FIR against Swami Avimukteshwaranand, Alok defended it as standard judicial process. ‘Court ordered it; police will investigate lawfully. No need for political spin.’

Alok’s remarks underscore BJP’s narrative of transformative governance versus opposition’s alleged plunder, as UP eyes continued progress ahead of elections.
