New Delhi’s political arena heated up as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj, accusing him of disrespecting the Constitution and marginalized communities. BJP Delhi chief Virender Sachdeva demanded an immediate apology from AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and the expulsion of Bharadwaj from the party.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Sachdeva condemned Bharadwaj’s recent press conference remarks as a direct affront to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution and the sentiments of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities. ‘What Bharadwaj said under Kejriwal’s direction is an insult to our SC-ST brothers and sisters,’ he asserted, highlighting the AAP leader’s comments on the election of two presidents during the NDA regime.

Sachdeva zeroed in on Bharadwaj’s controversial lines: ‘They even searched and placed such people on the President’s chair who make other leaders look bigger in comparison.’ He called this statement deplorable, emphasizing that the elevation of Ram Nath Kovind from the Dalit community and Droupadi Murmu from the tribal community to the highest office fills every member of these societies with pride.

The BJP leader argued that such achievements under NDA governance symbolize national progress and unity, making Bharadwaj’s remarks not just personal but a broader attack on inclusive politics. ‘Kejriwal must take responsibility, sack Bharadwaj, and publicly apologize,’ Sachdeva urged, framing the issue as a test of AAP’s respect for constitutional values.

Meanwhile, Bharadwaj had earlier taken to social media platform X to question the appointment of Nitin Nabain as BJP’s new Delhi president. ‘A weak person is being placed on the chair; he’s a puppet of BJP leadership. Power is concentrated in one person’s hands,’ he posted, shortly after Nabain assumed office on Tuesday in the presence of PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and former chief JP Nadda.

This exchange underscores deepening rifts ahead of Delhi elections, with BJP positioning itself as the defender of marginalized voices against AAP’s alleged insensitivity. As accusations fly, voters watch closely how these leaders navigate community sentiments in the battle for the capital.
