In a bold move ahead of the West Bengal assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to kick off its ‘Parivartan Yatra’ – a massive campaign rally aimed at signaling a much-needed change in the state. BJP leader Dilip Ghosh, speaking in Kharagpur, emphasized that the people of Bengal are yearning for transformation after years of alleged mismanagement.

Ghosh, in an exclusive interaction, declared, ‘This is a journey for change. Bengal’s residents want a shift, and we’re bringing that message directly to them.’ He highlighted that the yatra will feature participation from state-level leaders to national figures, carrying Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assurance that a BJP government would reshape the state’s fortunes.

The yatra kicks off from Siliguri, weaving through Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, and Darjeeling districts. It will then span across Nabadweep, North and South 24 Parganas, Howrah-Hooghly, Medinipur, Purulia, and Bardhaman, covering all nine divisions simultaneously. Public rallies are scheduled for March 1 and 2 to mark the launch, with the main leg running from March 5 to 10, clocking about 100 kilometers daily.

Amid global tensions, Ghosh expressed deep concern over the Iran-Israel conflict, calling it unfortunate especially during Ramadan. ‘The world is already reeling from multiple wars; this new escalation is heartbreaking,’ he said, urging an immediate ceasefire.

On the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, Ghosh accused the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) of padding rolls with fake voters in their strongholds. ‘Post-SIR, deceased names and bogus entries will be purged, ensuring a fair electoral fight,’ he asserted confidently.

This yatra isn’t just a march; it’s BJP’s clarion call to Bengal’s voters, promising development, security, and governance that delivers. As the state braces for polls, the campaign sets the stage for a high-stakes battle.
