Kolkata, February 28: In a bold move to galvanize support across West Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to kick off its historic ‘Parivartan Yatra’ aimed at reaching every household with a promise of change. This massive campaign will span nine divisions, covering more than 230 assembly constituencies, spotlighting key issues like corruption, lawlessness, and unemployment that have plagued the state under the current regime.

The journey begins in Siliguri, weaving through Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, and Darjeeling before fanning out to other regions including Nabadwip, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Howrah-Hooghly, Medinipur, Purulia, and Bardhaman. All nine divisions will see simultaneous starts, building momentum from the ground up.

Public rallies are scheduled for March 1 and 2 in various divisions to herald the yatra’s launch. The core program runs from March 5 to 10, with teams covering an average of 100 kilometers daily. Each leg features a main float, eight promotional tableaux, and a grand bike rally, targeting a staggering 5,000 kilometers to connect with over 1 crore people.

Daily itineraries include around 10 welcome meetings and one major public gathering, totaling 64 large rallies and over 280 smaller events. BJP leaders from state and national levels will participate, district by district, infusing the campaign with cultural festivities showcasing Bengal’s rich heritage.

‘We need change, we want BJP government’ – this rallying cry underscores the yatra’s mission to liberate Bengal from a debt burden exceeding Rs 8 lakh crore, rampant loot, forced extortions, and syndicate dominance. The party accuses the ruling dispensation of post-election violence, murders, displacements, and failures in women’s safety, citing horrific incidents in RG Kar and Sandeshkhali.

As the economy crumbles and chaos reigns, the Parivartan Yatra positions itself as the people’s mandate for transformation, blending political messaging with celebratory vibes to inspire a groundswell of support ahead of future polls.
