The BJP targeted the Congress on Friday, alleging that more Congress leaders are now praising the RSS. BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari, in a post on X, highlighted DK Shivakumar’s performance of the RSS anthem in the Karnataka Assembly. Bhandari’s remarks alluded to the Congress’s criticism of the RSS during the Prime Minister’s Independence Day address and pointed towards internal discord within the Congress.
Shivakumar issued a statement defending his actions. He said, “I am a Congressman by birth. As a leader, I need to be aware of both my opponents and my friends. I have studied about them. There is no question of joining hands with the BJP. I will lead the Congress. From birth until today, I have been with the Congress and will remain so for life.”
